Howdy,
I've just bought a new Corsa SXI 1.4 16V and I thought i'd follow the time honoured tradition of joining a car forum for whatever brand of car you own
I've ordered a weird spec so I'm still waiting for delivery (its been a month now) and i'm looking forward to having a good thrash
Does anyone know what diference the Irmscher back box will make to the car if anything? I'm hoping it will make it sound slightly better than standard!
Cheers
Dave

Hello
Mixed opinion on the i exhaust - I had one on my C 1.2 SXi and I thought it was rubbish, others found it good and made a nice noise :S

The new style box looks cool with the twin round pipes instead of the oval pipes so thats worth the £200 IMO. I just hope it makes the car sound a bit better as well :-)

Cheers all. I'm totally new to Corsa's and I'm not too sure about the different models etc. Which is a Corsa C? Mine will be a brand new one so does that make it a C? I'll be looking at a filter at some point in the next few months, just want to run the thing in first before fettling

I just can't wait to get the bloody thing. What would you guys do about running in a new car? I've heard different things from different people
I've always thought that 1000 miles nice and steady then anything goes but the sales bloke said just drive it like you would from new, but then he probably doesnt know that i'll drive it like I stole it

LOL, Never thought of that! It'll be covered under warrenty for 3 years and then it'll be going for something faster I wont be screwing the engine too much, thats what hire cars are for that work provide once in while

I'd take it steady for the first 1000 miles
Don't just jump in it & start driving like a lunatic straight away, you'll probably just end up crashing it. I rarely thrash my car apart from when im racing someone. Its your car, so look after it properly

I'm no boy racer so I won't be going mental outside schools etc but I do like a good blast down a tricky B road and steering on the throttle

Its not too weird, just a pic and mix of the options. Its Black, with the tints, 16" Wheels, MP3 Player, Air Con & the Irmscher backbox. Not something that they have ready built apparently I was tempted to get the front splitter and rear spoiler but it wasnt worth the extra cash and it should look cool in black anyway

So is it a 1.4 or a 1.2?
I thought they only made SXI's in 1.2

Its a 1.4 SXI Its an extra over the normal 1.2 SXI that was a few hundred quid. I'll post some pics when I get it at the end of the month

I'm not waiting for an exhuast, im waiting for the whole car! The exhuast has been bought from the vauxhall dealer who will fit it to the car before I pic it up I dont think i'll be buying too many parts of ebay, just dont have the trust factor for me
