Worth it?
Bird across the road got her car broke into last weekend when Rachels car was also parked on the road, but they never touched hers. All this happened outside my bedroom window and I heard nothing
It makes me wonder whether they came around looking for mine but because of the position of mine i.e undercover right outside my bedroom door they were detered.
Anyway if I was to mount one to watch my driveway how good are they at picking up images in the dark? The ones from Argos etc.

Well we have security lights, one right near my car outside the door, and two beside the garage
See
The only trouble is the security lights are a bit slow to react to someone walking past.
What sort of angle do they work at as well? I would want to mount the camera so it could keep an eye on my car and Rachels car and my new Corsa which will be kept by the gate on the left.

We put one up after my old car got broken into, and my brother’s mate had his bike nicked from our porch !
My Dad bought a Colour camera, and it had the worst picture on it and you couldn’t see any thing at night time. He took it back and got a Black and White one.
During the day the picture is really clear, and is gave a lot better view. He also bought the Infrared attachment, so when nighttime kicks in, the Infrared light turns on.
The Infrared light lights up a big area of our drive and part of the neighbour’s drive, and it’s crystal clear too.
If you want a CCTV camera I would definitely get a black and white camera with the Infrared attachment !!!!!!
If you like I can take a pic of what the camera picks up through the monitor rite now, during the nighttime.

If anything, any CCTV presence will deter them in the first place.

Deffo mate, so black and white with infa red? How much did that set you back?
Argos infareds are 100 quid which is very reasonable.

We've got a security light and camera fitted. Camera operates 24/7 on some special kind of rolling video. Got a security light fitted for night time.. Works really well..
I don't park my car on the driveway anymore though because we got a 60ft tree at end of our garden and the birds shit all over the cars so i leave mine outside now. If anyone nicks it, they'll be doing me a favour!

Be aware that you can only use them on private land. If the camera covers the path or the road you need council permission.
If you don't get it your neighbours could easilly be shitty about it
