on corsa. Is this quite a common problem. Getting my 1.4 16v fitted to replace the 1.0 12v and just hoping that the timing belt isnt going to snap when i get the new engine. My mates snapped on his 1.6 and it cost him 500 quid to get it fixed.

if in doubt change the belt,rollers,and tensioner asap

is it worth me taking it to a garage eg vauxhall and get them to fit a new kit after i get the engine fitted?

about 80000 i think mine needs 1 now but that dont make it so

Timing belt should be changed at 40,000 mile intervals.

Timing Chains are 80,000 IIRC

belts are about 40k or every four years

chains are 80-100k miles

belts differ depends on age of corsa, they changed interval to 40k in 1997, think it was 30k before that

Belt and depends on the miles but its a wise precaution.

Belt, and do water pump too (if that seizes then it'll snap your belt anyway )

There's a belt kit which includes tensioners etc too...

on an xe belt kit and fitting is about £150 at most garages and i would advise it!!

on a ecotec then id replace the rollers as well
