Posting this on behalf of SRi-Co, so send any U2Us 2 him.
Is he better off using Cav or Vectra rear disc hubs for the swap?

They're all the same though... You can't use Cavalier GSi or Calibra ones because they have independant rear suspension and the stub axles won't fit onto a Corsa beam.

i find mine dont do this. also i feel it balances the car under harsh braking better, but i think if you have smaller than v6 on the front you will encounter problems

i just got Astra Gsi rear hubs/discs/callipers to do my conversion of mig web £50 deliverd. got polly bushes braided hoses too front and rear. just waiting to be able to afford the rear beam from a corsa so i dont have to have my car off the road long and i can also get it powder coated.

i put it down to the fact the corsa was never designed to have rear discs and may weigh lots less at the rear than an astra

Nooooo, the bias on the Astra is set up for rear disk brakes, there is also more weight over the back axle. On a corsa it is set for drum brakes, if you add more powerfull rear brakes then they will tend to lock up. If you use more powerfull front brakes than what the Astra uses then you can balance this out on the Corsa... Though, I have been in a V6 front braked Corsa and the rear end did definately lock up in the dry on a warm sunny day...

My rear drums lock up in the dry before 2.0l spec fronts.
Its a common vaux trait to lock inside rear wheels. Its no big deal!

agreed mine did this too, but a little adjustment and they are som uch better than the drums. people say it dont make any difference etc, but it helps keep the car more stable under hard braking i find

I want the extra power from them what with the weight of my wheels, but I don't want to bend my car....
How did you adjust them?
