Went shopping today, just got back to my car when a police car pulls up behind me. Advised me they have the Vehicle Inspection guys with them and they were checking window tints. Some little geek gets out of police car with his new toy and sticks it to my window...
"Your windows allow 31% of light to travel through them and the legal limit is 70%"
Bloody hell... lock me up and throw the key away! I knew they were illegal but did get the lightest possible as so not to take the piss. Anyway have 10 days to remove and have car re-inspected or I am in court.
My point is.... Do they really have nothing better to do than go around car parks and do people for having light tints on their cars? It wasn't just me, mothers with kids were getting the same treatment. We have all heard stories about the police not having time to attend emergencies because they are too busy.... ITS ******** PATHETIC!!

the point is vehicle inspection blah de blah...
normally checking for bald tyres, windscreen wipers, headlights etc.
i'd rather have them check other road users' cars to see if they're safe on the road tbh.
in other words, i have no quarrel with the police. carry on.

totally agree with that, loads of expensive 4x4s and mercs have full tints but never seem to bet bothered by the cops. There doing a crack down on window tints in aberdeen i heard so is there anywhere where i can get my tints checked before i get pulled for it? Still unsure on whether to keep my tints anyway so if they are illegal i will just remove them.

Thats cause generally those type of people would just say im not taking them out go2 court and pay a fine, just cuz they can afford 2, plus a lot of these cars come with coloured glass, which police can't touch you for
Oh and I thought that you cudnt have any tint film @ all now?

You are only leaving yourself open to this hassle by having illegal stuff on your car....
