because when we are watching somthing, and the boys find it funny, they rewind it and replay it half a dozen times

Unfortunatly steve my sumo powers are useless against the 4 boys.

You can change the Instant Rewind buffer to upto 60 minutes. But it only stores the channel that you have it tuned to - you can't switch channels and then rewind it back. It's more like instant replay than rewind.

I wouldn't bother unless your existing box is buggered, it's much cheaper just to change the hard drive in the standard Sky+ box - put a 160GB or 200GB drive in there

There's no delay, the box caches it as it shows you it, but you can only rewind within what's been broadcast on that channel since you went to that channel, obviously.
And yeah, you use the S-Video out into a capture device on the computer and job done.

i got TIVO the day it came out, about 4years ago and it is so much better than sky+. so rewinding live tv is nothing new really, we bought sky + tho jst too see what all the fuss was about. but its nothing new

£200 for the boxes, and then £50 installation cost, as you can't just do a straight swap for a normal sky box, has to be set up (that's what i was told, and told people anyway)
That's what it used to be about 6 months ago anyway.

think it was 400quid when it first came out, then went to 300. not sure how they r now and then uv got a monthly charge. but id recommend one over sky +. even tho we dnt use tivo anymore and have chosen to stick with sky + and also a seperate sky box n transponder

Yeah I don't think they sell Tivos in this country anymore. Both Tivo and Microsoft Media Centre is better than Sky+ though - it's just a pain in the arse that you have to use one of Sky's receivers to watch their service.
Wish I could get a couple of Sky tuner cards for my Media Centre PC
