Myke, I didnt think it looked much like somethnig that could Control my Idle Air flow, but then an ebay search made me wonder otherwise :?

if there's no air going through it, how can it control trhe revs?
that looks like a throttle sensor or something

thats ure idle speed control valve... well they said it was to me on migweb and it is the part in ure ebay link mate..... i've taken mine off and its exactly like it

An ICV on a 1.2 8v is on the firewall just above the inlet plenum, has a pipe going into it and a wire coming out the other side.

reet well I took it all apart, and that black box is what controls the actual valve. The valve was set into a metal block beneath that big circle plastic thing with the torx screw in the top of the photo.
The spring on the circled bit in the picture keeps the valve just open enough for the car to idle, and upon revving the throttle, it lets the valve open firther.
I wiped all of the valve down and give it a squirt with WD40.
Im now leaving my battery unplugged to reset my ECU.... for a laugh
Cheers all, Ill see if this sorts my EM light problem
