unscrew any screw and gentle prise off as could be sealed on.
also careful for any wires if u have a brake light.

tried getting it off looks a right pain. Anybody got any useful tips to get it off?Its been on there since 1997

Unscrew the 6 nuts from the inside of the tailgate, theres 3 down each side. You will need an 8mm spanner or socket for this. Then theres 2 self tappers on the underside of the main lip of the spoiler, they got a big head on just run your hand along the underneeth of the top edge of the spoiler and you will feel the recesses where they are.
Then you will probably need to prize it up all around as there is some super sticky tape round the edge of it.
After this, lift it round the edges to pop the threaded bits out of the 6 holes (without breakin em out!) then pull the spoiler towards the back of the car and it will come off in your hands.
After you've done it once it'll seem like less of a chore!
