im getting flat spots all over the place between 1 and 3 k , if i push my foot hard on the accelerator thats when i get them if i build up gradually it seems ok, is it the filter ? i only have an airbox with a couple of holes wing side no where near the engine...

the whole rev range on a 1.2 is a flat spot.

check that the hot air valve inside the airbox is functioning properly. Make sure its not wedged half shut

thats fair enough but at the end of the day its my first car i would rather it was working properly than malfunctioning , and whats this hot air valve ??

when you put your foot down does it chug up and seem to die, if so its your o2 sensors, either air mass or lamba?

No induction kit its nothing really serious, and it doesnt chug it just like stops for a second like stops accelerating and then goes again.

u got a decent cold air fitted rob? its just a flat spot, the torque curve on 1.2s is rather small so its more likely to get them, the best way to reduce the effects of them is a good supply of cold air and also new sensors

when was it last serviced? id just change plugs, filters and oil if its been a while.

sounds like it could be as simple as a block in ur air feed pipe!!!

stop gettin much air to engine so slightly overfueling!!!

i had the same problem and just lived with it, now my engine managment light keeps comming on when i stop (idle) and the flat spot acurs when i pull away, sometimes the car judders and feels like it wants to stall, when i give it a few revs the light goes off and the car drives normal again. Ive been told that its a faulty Air Flow Meter (or air mass meter) they are £220 new from vaux !!
