Just ordered one of these (exact same as pic). Its a RenaultSport Clio 182 Cup.

Also considered a Civic Type R and a Cooper S. I already have a Cooper which I'll be keeping for a while but I loved the S to bits. Didn't like the Type R much TBH. Clio and Type R felt about the same in terms of real world pace but when it came down to the price differential there was only one winner.

Should be here next week

yes, but they'll prob be coming off first day

They had one ready with the stripes but apparently they're easily removed.

Will see what they look like in the flesh first but 99% certain they're coming off!

I got the cup for a very good price. It'll only be used for fun and prob a couple of track days so I just couldn't justify the extra 2k for the none Cup version.

Either way, they're brilliant little cars for the money

very nice mate, i have a 172 they are fantastic cars. they are like little go karts

I never liked the stripes they cost a fair bit to be put on by renault as well.

You won't be disapointed by it. It has the power, it handles very well, insurance is good, looks good and to top it off you will get very good mpg out of it. I'm averaging 33.8 mpg.

Congrads on another productive comment Russ, now would you like to share your wealth of knowledge and tell us why they are there?

the cup is lighter built for track use, therefore no air con, cd changer not sure what else.
Because its lighter its slightly quicker than the standard 172.

I went for the luxuries

the 182 cup does 0-60 in about 6.9 seconds.
my mk1 172 does it in about 7.1 seconds.

Not a lot difference but i would of prefered the 182 just couldn't afford it

Love the twin exhaust

Used to work for renault. Sure the stripes are something like an extra 300. They look really good in real life.
DONT TAKE THEM OFF...
Nice cars pretty sure I wouldve gone for the civic tho... Clios arent the most reliable of cars...
