Cally should imagine due to the 4 wheel drive traction

Standard Cossie will beat a cally turbo to 60mph buy 0.2 of a second - but then the cossie gets wasted by the vauxhall.

(assuming both cars are totally standard)

The above FACTS are taken from an Autocar test.

Is the Cossie still holding it's value better than the equivalent Calibra/Cav?

The report that im refering to is the Escort Cosworth vs a Cavalier Turbo..........

Its reads a little like this........

"Drivers of the Cosworth had better keep an eye over their shoulders or ignore the new Vauxhall Cavalier 4x4 Turbo at your peril........................"

"0-60 the Cosworth will just about dispatch the Cavalier buy 0.2 of a second. After this there is no arguement the Cav will hit 70mph from 30mph a full 0.5 seconds faster than the Cosworth and even more impressive is how the Cavalier will dispatch the Cosworth by nearly 1.5 seconds if the sprint was to hit a magic 110. Top speed there is no arguement either the Cosworth will hit a mighty 144mph whilst the Cavalier will storm on to 152mph"

RS500 would beat a Cav/Cally Turbo without a doubt........................

................hello Lotus Carlton - the LC would and i quote again..................

"The LC uses Cossies to wipe its bottom"

People are very quick to dismiss Vauxhall as a "performance" Car manufacture but you look at the facts and figures they just managed to keep it very quiet!

Both in standard trim... surely the EsCos is faster even on the move??!

Either way, I have watched both on a track, at the same time, and the EsCos was walking all over the Callibra. Both standard bar suspension mod's

Nah - the report which was with timing gear in simple terms.... the Cos will beat the Cav to 0-60 by 0.2 of a sec - then the Cav literally hands the Cos its whaletale back

maybe superiour is the wrong word, as the cally was a clever design

but as standard you dont have the concern of lowering or rotataing tyres on the cossie, and its ony when you startign running big power on the 4x4 (mt75 box ???) that you have to worry about braking it
