contrary to popular belief...now i know its not scientific proof or anything or even a remotely accurate way of measuring performance but it does show that they are not as slow as people think...(well this one isn't anyway)

Just in case the video doesn't work....its not a video of my car getting beaten by a zetec-s!

Bearing in mind I have a dbilas inlet and full sebring system I think it would beat a standard Gsi no problem.

we both accelerated in second gear ONLY as i couldn't change gear with the phone in my hand!

This will cause some debate i'm sure

yes vid keeps cutting my internet off

And if you lost to a Ztec S with just a exhaust and filter either you cant drive or your car is not set up right.

i duno my Zetec s was nippy..it did groan when i played withthe air box and manifold a bit...deep roar and lots more power but drank buckets laods of fuyloe and dirt...no idea racing a gsi let alone my gsi hehe

Well they are slow end of, My 1.4 16v when standard was exactly the same.

My brothers mate has one and its apalling how slow they are

well i'm just going on todays drive....obviously my car is quicker and when we raced through the gears i took quite a lead, but his car is quicker than i thought!

my mates Zetec 1.25 ran 17.2 lowest and 18.1 highest at santa pod a while back with the other figures around 17.4/5

they're nippy little cars and handle amazingly well as standard

setecS takes over 30s to get to 100mph. the corsa GSi takes around 28s it is possible for the zetec-s to stay in gear with another car as thats not a true measure of out and out acceleration. the power bands of each car is different as arre the gear ratios. I have a vid of me racing a zetec-s at crail.

whats the zetec-s got? i.e. filter and exhaust?

It doesn't look completely bone standard.

So that zetec-s may be 10 bhp more than a standard one or whatever.

Sly we need to re-race now my car has the exhaust, before it was pretty even - it'd be interesting to see how they fair now

you'd destroy mine now! lol. we raced down at winnersh triangle. we also did a few runs down the a33 dual carrage way which showed my car to be alot quicker, but didn't get them on video

I don't know - my gear box is about to blow I think haha - 1st to 4th gear... not great for acceleration

I think my exhaust is blowing at the manifold too - as I didn't bother replacing the gasket that goes manifold to center pipe.
