when my car is idle the engine makes a loud ticking noise and is louder when the engine is warm. now sounds like a diesel! any ideas what the problem might be?

yeah it was very low nearly none left it is slightly off full now. think i might have caused engine damage?

i have the same problem with mine. i should do an oil change really, that should help

I was told it could be the timing chain in the engine? the oil was really low below the min level. would an oil change help? because i just added more oil

no i just need to do mine thats all, the timing chain does make a noise, more so than the other engines. i find that having the music on slightly louder helps

cheers ill try an oil change. How would i know if it was the water pump would it go through more water? because ive noticed my water coolant level going down much faster recently.
