Fitted my dump valve.

Now my car keeps cutting out

Done a search on mig cant seem to find a good enough answer, hard i know when they cant see the car!

Basically i havent blanked off the old recirc vlave as was advised not to. Its safer apparently. Fitted new DV, and now after boosting when i change gear, or decelerate to low revs. Engine cuts out

Also seems jerky and "boggy" when changing up gears too.

Any ideas people?

There seems to be no visible holes!

Alltho my oil breather one seems to have a split, that surely wouldnt cause it to cut out tho

I suspect you bought a DV 24 not a DV 26 which you require cause you have an AFM.

or you have a huge leak - if the bung fitted in place.

As Vibs said it should be a twin piston if you are using the AFM, looks like your using a single piston designed for cars running no AFM or a MAP sensor.

Basically the twin piston has two diaphragms inside. One closes when the valve dumps to keep a measured amount of air in the inlet tract, its this lack of vacuum that I think is making your car stall.

On the outside it will be pretty hard to tell the difference!

Any idea what car it came off? It could even be a faulty one that you have been sold.

twin piston bailey has a L shaped attachment on top.

if the DV was jammed open you'd not idle. see if the valve inside moves up or down.

tis wierd, might just be a faulty dv or a loose hose. When i first fitted my bailey one i didnt tighten the intercooler pipe back up properly and had similar problems.

Wrong, I have a twin piston and it has a straight attatchment on top.

edited to say, the newer twin piston ones have the L shaped attatchment, older ones are straight.

this has a straight attachment at the top too.

Mig said if theres a rod, its a twin pistom mine had a rod so im guessing it is fine. im thinking my vacuum line from top of the vlave is possibly getting pinched by the bonnet due to angle when i closes

I guess this would cause it?
