Right got leccy windows standard.

about 1/2 or 2/3 way down they slow and stop... they won't do this when they are real clean though! and i can get them to go down if i keep pressing the button and pushing on them but obviously this is annoying and not doing the motors any good.

is this a common problem and how easy is it to take the door apart to check all the runners etc before i do so?

I had exactly the same problem. Fixed it by adjusting the runners. Easy enough to do.

Mines always doing this. Passenger side, and people will keep checking to see if it still does it! Might remove the passenger side controls, lol

If its stiff all the way I would say its mechanism in the door, if its only stiff in certain parts wind the window all the way down and pull the rubber off the back end of the door and flatten it out, most likely the fur finish has rubbed off and the glass is running on rubber, two choices are either lubricate the rubber or replace it. So long as you find a donor car with a window you can open its not difficult to recover one off a scrapper.

It must be rubbing, as I had smears on the window where it was sticking. Ill have to sort it out as I just got the window tinted

right so all i need to do is take the bottom pocket off the door... then just the trim on it? will i be able to see all the window? wasn't sure if it was all solid behind there or not.

mine is only sticking 1/2 way down and it doesn't do it when clean. also noticed the trim on the door (i'm guessing the bit you call door card) sort of buldges out when its sticking

take of the the door card and try cover anything electrical.. wiring/motor etc and give good WD40 spray to all the mechanism etc then lube the rubber parts up that come into contact with the window and make sure they are nice and flexible to avoid it slowing the window down and squeek sounds...

i did this over two years ago to my car and its been fine since, but now hte pasenger side squeeks a little, but not bad if it lasts 2 years

okies thanks! i'll try and find some time to get a proper look at it.

what should i lube the furry bit at the top of the door card with? i've noticed the fur is running a little low. obviously don't want to lube it with anything thats gonna get all over the windows lol
