Think i may be in need of a new clutch.

Right apart from the clutch itself what else needs replacing ?

such as the slave cylinder ? (is that right), how do i know if i need a new one of them ?

friction plate, cover plate and release bearing, all part of a clutch kit. I screwed my flywheel aswell, but unless its really bad and has been for a while, you should be fine
