Without changing the gearbox u will go no more than 1mph fasterish if u change the orlling radius of your wheels.
Your speedo clocks are innacurate

i dont think so somehow. the rev limiter on the 1400 is 6500rpm, which is translated to about 125mph, there is no way in hell a 1400 is going to reach the limiter with no heavy mods.

gearbox only allows 112mph that is determining the top speed

mine was a 1.4 16v SRi
and considering it cut out in 4th at 108 115 isnt too much to ask outa the engine.
admitadly prob a bit of speedo error but i had i clocked at 60 and it was reading 59mph so im assuming mine was fairly accurate.
but yes 125 took quite a while and a min or two of whens my eninge gonna pop moments!

its once you get above about 80 i think that the speedo starts to wander off 60 would be pretty accurate compared to 100

aye more than likely but even still...if its nearly bang on at 60 then it means more than being off at 60

I remember 7, 12.5, 20, 28 for my mental calc when I drive down the road, that is close enough.
My speedo is 130/127 ~ 2.36% high. using Auto Tap to get direct OBDII readings.
For most SHO owners if their speedo is like mine it will read 2.36% high.
My summer tires are only 25.2" tall, which makes them 1.62% shy of OE.
.9838 x 1.0236 ~ 1.007 so the two errors off set to a large degree and my speedo is more accurate with 235/45-17's than the factory tire. It is with in less than 1%.
