was drivin normal heard a klunk, can hardly get any gears now took this pic and where i have circled it red that is dead loose and can move it easy, is there a part missing?

no looks fine to me......mine looked like that also, i thought it looked odd, but im sure thats normal. its hard for me to tell as well, i used to put my wheels on full anti clockwise lock and take a pic thru the gap where the steering rods go thru.
The bit you've circled, that ball looking thinking thats sits in a square block, think i remember that beeing rubbery.....not 100% sure tho.

found out wat it is, there shud be a sprocket ball and ring snap on the bottom of it, and they have come off bodged it for now untill i can sort it 2moz.

yeah that should be sitting in the bit behind it you can see in the pic. usually a circlip holts them in isnt there?
zip ties work wonders on gear linkages you know

Just had the same problem too and Beardy also sorted it for me! For future reference, the part numbers are
Plastic insert - 90442265
Metal locking ring - 11074312
