Well i know this is possible for the ground, but i was refering about the live feed.

Is there any permanent live likely to be in the door wiring already in either the central locking, windows or mirror looms?

If I remember correctly, you will only find ign live in any of your doors. Even so, with something like door solenoids, its best to run your own power supply, that way you can ensure its good enough to handle the current that the solenoid will demand.
Make sure its fused correctly too!

you sure matey?? as the central locking works all of the time, also if you do the auto-up on the leccy windows and take the key outta the ignition the window keeps going up....

but in any case its still best to run a new live, possibly through the multiplug if you can find the right connectors

The central locking motors do work when the ign is off, but they are sent power from the control unit, which is in the car, not the doors. It is the control unit that recieves a constant +12v supply... Likewise with the total closure (IIRC)
If you test any of the central locking wires, you will find no constant +12v supply.

if you are puttin new wires in, itll look better and be worth it if you can go through the multiplug, if you pull it out you can drill one of the blank holes at the bottom of the plug and run your wire through there... make sure not to pass it between the window runners lol
