Thinking of getting a 1.4 SRi engine to replace my 1.2 8v. What sort of tuning can be done to these engines , seeing what sort of power ?

You can get a new cam and put it on tb's or carbs, but the 16v engines are a lot more tunable. Also 1.4 isn't really a very big engine to tune up, you'll spend a lot of money and not get much power and loose a lot of reliability...

it depends on how far you want to go with it. and if you want the hassle of putting a 2.0 16v in your car, if you dont want to put a 2.0 16v in, then tune what you have! alltho dont spend too much. do a few nice mods, (inlet manifold full exhaust including manifold, and maybe drop a couple of cams in) alltho that would cost a fair bit in itself, and prob need uprated brakes then

okay mate, just wondering if theres any noticeable power difference really.... im upgrading the brakes anyway as theyre fucked lol

If your changing the engine anyway I would go for either 2.0 or a 1.6 16v all depends on how much you want to spend

what does putting a 1.6 on carbs involve and what power gains do u get is it expensive?
