Tried fitting my recliners today , only for the bolt in the inner frame of the passenger seat to snap (torx screw).
Wondering now if I can drill this out as it appears that it goes straight through to a nut underneath the car ?
Cheers

Dont think theres a nut underneath but IIRC when i did mine (5 years ago) the threaded hole that it bolts into does go all the way through the car. Ie if you remove the bolt you can see the floor under the car! The bottom of them goes rusty, thats why they snap. All the above is from memory tho and I have had about 12 cars since the Corsa so someone correct me if Im wrong.
Drilling it will do the trick!

there's a threaded platye welded to the floor.
you could drill it through, but you'd have to re-tap it and get a bigger bolt.

The one nearest the door definetly goes through the floor (as I could see right through)
How would I do a new thread ?
Totally fcuked off about it

they definetely go straight through the floor with no nut underneath.
I have a tap and die set for sale if your interested, lol, bought it ages ago and have never used it. Don't know if it's any use to you or you need one but might help you out.

ok, if you look underneath, you'll see the end of the bolt sticking out.
Go inside the car, and drill off any of the remaining head of the bolt, so all you're left with is the thread in the hole.
When you've done this, go under the car again, and get some mole grips or something onto the end of the nut and screw it out.
Obv, you'll have to turn it as though you're screwing the bolt in, so that it goes right through and comes out underneath. Hope it works - plenty of WD40 and a good clean round with a wire brush wont go amiss.

yea, i'd use a nut and bolt, more reliable than trying to re-tap a thread!

Nope, I need to put a new bolt in , but after drilling the old fcuked one out , it appears that I need to rethread as it bolts into a strengthed area of the car
