I decided to clean my engine yesterday and give it a blast with the jetwash, but i made sure i didnt actually hit anythin with a direct blast i just backed of a bit and used it as a spray. Problem is now when i put my foot down in my car it judders and wont accelerate properly. Any ideas guys?

Water in the dizzy cap.

Take the cap off, and get some clean dry kitchen towels or something. Dab them in, dont rub them. keep dabbing until all the water is out then try again

edit, is there a dizzy cap on the 1.6 16v ?

what type of paint and where you get it from to do the cover on your engine. I am doin mine red but i don't know what paint to use let us know. what mods have you done to the engine then mine looks the same but without the strut brace

leave it ticking over for a while then run it about, give it a good blast

leave it to run and dry off, i did this on mine, exact same engine, i steam clean mine quite often cos of the dirt and crap on the roads up my way, also check for water in the plus holes or a fecked lead,

Cheers lads, just use normal paint Iain mate its fine. I only fitted my strut brace yesterday, had it for ages though ll

the whole lot looks good mate might have a try this weekend. what prep work is needed or will the paint go straight on?

Cheers Iain mate, i used grey primer, some Gloss black, some Arden Blue, then laquered the lot, sorted

jonesy the engine bay loks like the rest of the car

seen you on sainsburys the other night, was beeping at you from maccys as you went over the speed bump into sainsburys and on the way back out too, but you just pretended you didnt see me throught the bushs

dunno whats up with the car though hope it sorts its self out fella.

Itll be water down the plug holes.. Take the leads out and dry up inside the holes.. Done.. x

Managed to pain the engine on sat. i think it looks awsome. pictures will go on when ma and pa get back with the digital camera

probably a breather pipe come off some were. these engines have sooooooooooo many pipes its unbelivable. give everything a chack over for splits and stuff.
