I HAVE JUST PUT A 1.6 16V ENGINE OUTOF MY CORSA SPORT IN MY GIRLFRIENDS CORSA GSI, I HAVE JUST LEFT THE GSI ECU IN IT BUT THE CAR WONT REV ABOVE 4.5 RPM OR GO ABOVE 85 MPH, SO I TRYED TO PUT MY SPORT ECU IN AND IT WILL START BUT THEN JUST CUTS OUT STRAIGHT AWAY AND BODY GOT ANY IDEAS OR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM? ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

was the original engine in the gsi a c16xe or an x16xe?

did you fit all the x16xe stuff on?

i.e loom, map sensor, fuel tank vent valve, secondary air pump etc....

WOT CAPS U ON ABOUT. THE ENGINE IS EXACTLY THE SAME BOTH 16 V ECOTECS SO DONT NEED TO CHANGE WOT U JUST SAID

c16xe runs a totally different loom, has a air mass meter instead of a map sensor, doesnt have the egr system or secondary air pump, different ecu, different cams, and is not an ecotech

SORRY GOT MY SELF CONFUSED SO HOW COMES THEY MADE THE GSI WITH THE ECOTEC IN AND THE C16 IS THE SOHC ENGINE ISNT IT. U HAVE ANY IDEAS THEN AS THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY BOTH X16S THEN BUT THEY DID HAVE A FEW DIFFERENCES ON THE ENGINES EVEN THO THEY WERE BOTH THE SAME CODE

no, the c16xe had a black tiop inlet and the x16xe had a silver one.

so they were both x16xe's?

wouldnt even start if it was the transponder.

did you swap all the loom and ecu/chip/transponder pickup over?

if both engines are from a x16xe you should be ok with changing just the engines over. are the plugs on the end of the looms the same colour in both cars?

ON THE ECU SIDE OF THE LOOM THERE IS A RED PLUG AND THERE IS A YELLOW 1 ON 1 AND A WHITE 1 ON THE OTHER.BBB

check both looms have the same wires going to the same pin on the ecu
