That pic above - this is the 'switchover valve' I was talking about. it will probably be in a different place on your car. the bit that goes into the white side of the connector is the hose from the brake servo vacuum.

this hose goes to the AIR injection housing on the exhaust manifold.

this is the start of the vacuum hose. it comes from the t-piece on the brake servo vacuum hose.

Can you not trace it back from the Brake servo hose? Think it might be around the Slam Panel Area? (Underneath). But i'm just guessing now. Does Haynes cover it?

IS your MAP Sensor plugged in? 1 inch along from the lid on the header tank? That will cause the EML to stay on and the car to run like a bag o' shit

JR's EML is always on iirc. Is that the same Engine as yours? Is your speedo in?

so its running better then? quick and easy test, whilst the engines running take the plug leads out one at a time and it should make it worse, if you get to one and it makes no difference you know thats the one with the fault

Right
No EML light now , the hose from the map sensor wasnt pushed into a hose that was blowing air out the dblias, also plugged in the switch over valve, seems to be rinning alot smoother idling around 850 now, smells like its running rich but i split some oil on the manifold and i think its just burning that ...

Map Sensor huh?
Sorted then. If it's warm then it should be idling there. Mine does.
