Been tempted with a LET corsa, but dunno if that much more BHP would really be noticable in such a lite car due to traction etc.

Thinking about it as my insurance wont go up whatever engine i am running

Turn your XE into a LET using new parts and standalone management.

how much would this typically cost? Prob best idea as my XE is new.

I dunno what im gonna do yet, just kicking a few ideas around at the mo. Although a Type R is quite high up there as is cheaper to insure but means changing companies and loosing NCB

probably cost a lot more than buying an let, would invole rebuilding the engne, new pistons, drilling block for oil return for turbo, management aint cheap, a good turbo with a manifold is gonna be 1000ish

And end up with nothing like you could from a proper LET for the money!

If you want to do it properly, get a LET, low comp pistons, steel rods, standalone management, big turbo and some injectors...

Viola! A quick car

to do the job properly using diff phase 2 etc your looking at 3.5k

i priced mine up, thats using new near enough verything and all the proper kit, not inc fitting kit as you would only need the f28 mount.

I cant justify spending 3.5k on my car for an extra 110bhp, a car that gets driven rarely etc. Much prefer to put that 3.5k into a evo that has more potential etc.

Dont get me wrong i love the big engine in small car appeal but you need to apply that to your apllication, can you afford to be fixing the car, wiring problems, tempermental etc?

Oh dear Your like me, you can't resist Is it an equal length jobbie?

Yes I've a plan to do something a bit mad on the car now

Any idea on what my engine is worth? Phase 3.5, Z20 LET injectors, steel head gasket. Possibly an XE cam in? Management can go with it (complete ECU). Hybrid turbo with a T3 compressor wheel (chatters a lot LOL). Probably come with the cooler too. I'll want to keep my top hat (you can pick a standard one up for next to nothing) and my rocker cover. No gearbox either, or flywheel.

Getting an LET is THE worst idea you have had mate- You'll be fooked when you start getting problems with it.

Just buy an ATR and get a quick, fun car that is built to handle power and wont break down every week.

let's can be build to handle power. vmax do a 750 now ya ken?

some let's never have any bothers, others driven and maintained by wankers blow up all the time. respect it and look after it, all will be well.
