what do you expect trying to insure a corsa sport the day after your test.
As soon as you mention 'sport' or '16v' pound signs roll into their eyes!

agreed - I tried to insure a 1.2 "Swing" TPFT and I was still ripped off! The Gay name obv helped a bit but not much!

You would if that was the only possible way to get insured.

Im paying £1300 f/c on a 1.2 8v.
Been driving for a year and a half, was previously on my mums inusrance on my first corsa, made a claim after writing that off (single car accident, lost control) now on a 10 month accelerater for ncb, paying the above price, and im 19 in a month..
Its stupid

I'd buy a car that was cheaper to insure. If she's on a "bonus accelerator" then she's paying for 10months and getting a full year's NCB. £160/month for TPFT insurance? No thanks.

i thought the bonus accelerators are quite a good idea!
only thing is you have ti save for insurance earlier if u pay it off at once.
u get bum holed being young, mine was £1400 on a 1.2 8v corsa tpft

My first car cost me 1400 to insure as a named driver tpft.
It wasn't an option to change the car.
If i wanted to drive, which I did, I had to pay it.
I would rather not pay that much but thats life unfortunately and if you want to be legal it isn't cheap.
