...early Friday morning in my supposedly 'secure' car park under my flat in central London Will be checking out the cctv on Monday...

Passenger window is currently lying all over all over the interior waiting for RAC to get their arses in gear and source a Coupe window (didn't have one in stock).

Sony headunit and the connected iPod both gone Worst thing is I went to claim on insurance and then realised there's no point as I'd lose all my no-claims and would cost me more in the long run.

Stupid thing is the headunit is covered in my name/mobile number from when I sent it for repair -- wonder if they'll be cheeky enough to call me?!

So mad

No it was an active-black one. It's got a code you have to enter with the remote. Sure any dodgy car place can bypass it though eh...

It's shit isn't it?

It happens but you realise there's nothing you can do about it. Insurance is always going to be a no go because of no claims and excesses that you'd have to pay so you just have to accept it and shell out of your own pocket for new stuff.

Been there myself few months ago when Road Angel got nicked.

Maybe my £80/month secure car space should be a bit more secure.

Not bothered about the stereo so much as it was my old one from back in 2000.

I know how this feels having my Saxo window smashed even though i had nothing on show or even in the car. Hence they left with nothing. My car was parked on a busy street too

I didn't take offence L33, as I know what you're saying...

It's under my building, all exits need keys from the building, has CCTV (checking with security people on Monday), and the main gates to the up ramp have big irons gates you need a beeper for.

iPod wasn't on show -- it's tucked away as the headunit controlled it. I don't even normally leave it in I just forgot last weekend and then didn't go back as I got complacent/secure...

To be honest it's not the equipment I care about, it's the fact my window is all over my interior, and I couldn't drive anywhere this weekend (was meant to be going to my brothers quite a few miles away).

I think the worst thing about this kinda crime is it leaves you feeling really insecure, and that I have to live with the factory unit now as I won't risk something aftermarket...

Car park is full of nice beemers, mercs, audi's, etc... why pick on the shitty Astra

CCTV doesnt make a car park safe. some grany film in the pitch black of some guy covering his face isnt going to get whatever you've lost back.

gutted for you tho matey
