tb's once setup will run like that all day long and all weather with a sock

carbs will need regular setting up, wont see such a power gain and petrol can freeze in them if its too cold

tb's will set you back £2000 after you have got good management on them which is essential but should see around 200 bhp

When you say XE I presume 2.0. 40's will be too small, you want 45's.

Also, why downgrade your engine from injection to carbs?

If possible... They sound good and they make your car spit flames... But they are soooo unreliable and such a pain in the ass to live with.

I'd never own an XE on carbs!

Always need setting up, crap economy, doesn't really go that fast unless you spend a shit load on the engine....

Pmsl quality - thats a quality question which made me chuckle...

I'd be asking which give better power/torque figues, tunability, and how they perform/suited to driving type etc But no, the sound is more important

Good lad.

Best mate had a 2.1 on twin 48's... awful wasn't the word....

Under 3k it hated it, you had to give it some beans at junctions setting off etc...

TB's if I wanted to stay N/A.

ive got carbs on mine but only did that over TB's cos of the massive cost difference. (£500 vs £2000) mines running 180bhp and did 14.4 at the pod and revs really well.

if i had the money though i'd rather stick with an ECU and TB's....

carbs give same performance figure as tb's on their own, tb's give about 180 Bhp, so do carb's.

Its only with cams and management you see 200 from tb's
