i think theyre a good engine. people are starting to get good power out of them

its more due to the xe boing out for years so mor stuff has been developed for em. ive seen x20xev's going locally for 100 quid, absolute bargain

yeah no reason why it wouldnt get to 150bhp from that. only thing is that would end up costing more than a regular c20xe

XEV's are far from shit.... The only reason people say they are shit is because people only look at them having 136bhp standard instead of 150bhp. But when you think about it, most XE's used in conversions are in such shite condition they are probably only producing about 130bhp. The XEV is just as tunable too, the block is probably a bit better too for tuning as the water galerys are larger...

from a set of tb's the estimate the xev and the same 180bhp they do from the xe's

but yeah, exactly as ed says, all the knackered tired xe's out there, probably better off.

i think its more the xe is tried and teste whereas not a lot of people (i cant think of any) have 20xev'd a corsa

You could put a Coscast head on with a decent TB/management set up and you will be near enough 200bhp...

i'd say go for it, imo the XEV is better, as its newer and you can get low mileage ones easier

and, they will become as tuneable within a couple of years when people start using them more

maybe this is what im looking for.... i dont fancy the £400 plus for the parts to rebuild an XE and i want it for an everyday car thats economical and quick!
know where i can get an XEV? i am able to fabricate my own mounts etc so it should keep the cost down!
