hehhee

started pearshaped, ended quite good but with bad rain/fog and zero visability.

Got to knockhill around 9am..... got the car off the trailor about 9:45 and was just taking it down and round to the pits to be scruteneered when it cut out..... and wouldnt fire back up.... Initially behaved like it was flooded... sparking but just chugging away....

Tried bump starting it etc with no joy.

Eventually closed all the door so i could hear things.... and didnt hear the furl pump... hmmm...

visably checked wires etc, whipped the top cover off the tank.... nothing obvious.... got it to work for a sec when turning it over and playing with some of the wires by the relay.... Gave Lee M a bell to see if he was aware of any potential probs from when he saw the wiring etc... nothing obvious.

Eventually rigged the fuel pump live wire (blue/red) to a switched live.... the switched live was.... wait for it.... my fog lights So to get the car working i had to have my lights on and fog switch on proper job... PS the spare wire came from something that i dont think i needed in the loom

anyway....

1st session.....
out for warm up lap.... and back in.... fuel spraying from tank seal.
Quick fix and back out on same session for 1 lap.... still spraying. D'oh. Back in, session ended.

Quick fic invloving a chisel, srew driver and my hand as a hammer secured it a bit better. Waited for next session.

2nd session....
Out for warm up lap.... was leaking but only on 1 section of track and not bad at all.... i'll just ignore it
Was pretty wet now so wasnt really going quick but still managed a big spin into some pretty soft mud Just passed an escort on the straight, took first 2 corners ok, then on the 3rd the back just went. Wasnt under breaking or anything that you'd expect it to wiggle at so i'm sure it was some oil or something.
Turned in the mud and back on to the track for a few slow laps

3rd session:
No incidents, just couldnt see. Was taking it pretty easy but gently building up the speed through corners as i started to get the feel of the car.

Overall thoughts.

Sometimes the car felt a bit flat but it wasnt slow on the straights.... or coming out of corners (just through corners as i was being gay ). The diff is something else. Soaking track, puddles, road tyres, hairpin, second gear, flatout..... wheel just jerks and the car grips.... no spin what so ever

it is mapped..... just needs remapped.

Just bought a SBD typeC exhaust manifold, fully ceramic coated, with the pipes welded to stop vibrations etc... extra sensor boss too... ace

yeh sorry a remapp after what the DTA man from Dartford said

once youve got a less retrictive manifold, and a proper remapp reckon it will be so much better

nearly drove into the back of a few cars coming out of the corners....

I cant put it into to words how impressed i am with the diff with a normal F20 i would have been understeering spinning...... its was awsome
