Do they mean clean the black control unit with it, or the actual valve under in the manifold bit?
Just that I had a fault code months ago, cleaned the valve itself with WD40 however it turned out to be a bad AFM anyway, but now the cars almost cutting out when i come off the revs and coming to a junction or whatever, and is idling a wee bit lumpy.

yeah, i do.
Well the thing is, id have thought that the ICV is the actuall flap that lets air into the engine, but if you search on ebay for a corsa ICV, it shows the black plastic box with a spring on the end, which appears to control the valve with throttle movements.
I need to know exactly what im cleaning, i dont wanna be squirting carb cleaner in the wrong places...

yes looks like it!
you should notice it adjusting the throttle position during idle if you watch it closely!

but tbh even tho alot of people say ICV is to blame, it can also be caused by a stickle throttle!

That pic is of the ICV on a 1.0 12v or a 1.2 16v .
First time you just cleaned the throttle body with some carb cleaner yeah?
My idling was poor and i replaced ICV and all was good

I do have a spare on here by the way..... the engine come out for a C20XE conversion so it has very little usage..

Hmm ok cheers folks.
Ill clean the throttle body out then, but is it possible to clean the actual ICV? If so, do I take the casing off, are there any internals to clean, or just the springy bit?
