These are enabled now, I've altered the programming slightly to make things more efficient but I'm still not entirely happy with the speed as its a lot slower than without.
Won't work for topped threads or in Classifieds until its officially live.
Feedback appreciated.

Just taken 2/3rds off the query time by using numeric analysis rather than textual, plus I now have the number of replies, not just whether there have been any. Bonus.
It may not stay looking like that, but I'll keep the quicker query.

Folder with a dot on. Look in the left most column in forum display.

I understand the number showing replies... but why have a dot in the folder? is it just to mark that we have replies on that topic?

Yeah just replies on the topic.
The dot is historic tbh, the original board software came with it. We turned it straight off as the way it was programmed was really bad, like 10 seconds queries. Someone idea'd it in the special place so I thought I would see if I could get it running any better.
Doesn't have to stay a dot with the number, thats just because I had the image of the dot, and the number in memory as thats now how it works.
Can alter either. Might even get rid of the number if enough people ask what it is

The fact it now lets you know which thread you've replied to is handy, very handy in fact as I used to use the search to see where I'd been chatting
Not sure about the usefulness of the numbers, will give it a day, if i'm still not sure I want my £12.50 back

I didn't see this, apologies
Suggestion; instead of a dot why not have a "dot folder" as the folder image but a different shade or brighter than a not replied folder. You could play with the opacities (sp) to make it more subtle and less imposing.
Just an idea

I swear it wasn't there this morning In my excuse; it's early first day back to work and my body's still recovering from the battering it received this xmas with alcohol.
Anyway i understand now, when u said topped thread you meant read it... i thought you meant the dot was a topped thread hence the confusion as it clearly wasnt
