im buying a 1.4 16v engine at the end of the month to put in my car...
its currently a 1.2i 8v
what is need all for this conversion?
i will be getting the engine, manifolds, ecu, downpipe.. anything else needed?

engine loom and a mpi fuel pump and im not sure if you need radiator, i have these too

engine done 21k so its alot cheaper this way

Hiya mate..i did this but with a GSi engine ..
Ull need a header tank, driveshafts - if u can get hold of some, but urs will fit .. radiator is same and so are engine mounts and stuff
Ill try and remember wot else i needed

O yea the S-bend hose to the left side of the radiator too

Ull need ecu, chip and key .... erm ... Ull need (If u got no rev counter) to take ur sensor from gearbox and replace onto other engine so ur old dials work ... Unless u got rev one sorted out

Engine,
manifold's,
downpipe
ecu
wiring loom
key chip
s bend hose for Radiator
Fuel pump

Header tank .. I thought fuel pumps were the same ?? I aint changed mine

A major one i jus remember'd .. Brakes !!! They fade like Monkey shit , infact thinkin about it .. i think ull need all hose' to rad, well both

Yep and i think the brake cylinder .. best person to tell u everything u want is Corsa808 ... hes the boy in the know he help me with mine

forgot about the MPI fuel pump
the shafts will be fine, if you are keeping the gearbox you already have, and as i dont have a spare, you'll have to really, but that will be fine
header tank is about 11 quid from vaux, and you dont NEED the radiator, yours should work ok
never heard of anyone changing the master cylinder for the brakes, but i might be wrong...

ok right ive got a final list that i think is correct....
i will need:-
engine (inc all sensors)
loom
ecu
transponder (from round lock barrell)
chip (from key)
engine mounts from a 16v
downpipe
manifold
header tank
water pipes
please let me know if there's anything i need as id rather have everything at once instead of having to wait for extra parts.. im picking the engine up in about 2 weeks

yes... its robmarriot's old one... not sure about aircon but it has pas as does mine

i would suggest changing the fuel pump, your 1.2 8v will have been spi (single point injection) the 1.4 16v is mpi (mutli point injection) these pumps ARE different, yes the 1.4 will run on the spi as mine was it was only when i dropped my 2 litre in i noticed something wasnt right it was holding back quite a bit, change to a mpi pump and been fine ever since.
