Cheers Greg they seem to be ok. Heard reports its quite a harsh remap comapred to others

AMD etc apparently are smoother in power delivery

just thought I would ask

How much are they?

Power delivery and even peak power is dependent entirely on the map, which any good tuner will be able to tailor to your preferences.

They will need your car though, and they're too much money. Personally I would be phoning Toph Technik, 0845 021 8674, who are local and can come to you, and are cheaper.

Plus you get the driving preference as the map is written for you not a generic thing.

Just phone Toph and say Ian said you want it doing tomorrow morning and be driving a monster fast car by the afternoon, and cheaper than everyone else.

From a technical standpoint, these are just software, and I'm not entirely clear how they can differ that wildly. Tiled workshops and a stand at Autosport with your Porsche on are lovely, but I know where my money would be going.

I've never seen the value of live mapping a standard car, when the resultant product is essentially identical to previous ones. I suppose you get some input in to the driving style, I personally would drive it for a week before making a decision rather than looking at the readings.

There's loads of choice:

Revo - Aggressive map, loads of low down power, but tails off a lot after 5k. You can upgrade to stage 2 if you've got the right mods.

APR - Nice smooth map, good power.

Custom Code - Latest company, pffer custom as well as generic, really good map, makes most of power right to redline.

Jabbsport - Been remapping cars for years, custom map done on their rollers, to take account of any mods etc.

Each will cost you around £450. Personally I went for CC as it's give th best power delivery, Revo is good but very much all or nothing, narrow power band, harsh on clutch etc.

Have a look on the VAG forums dude, LOADS of info available!!
