im going to be buying Corsaboy87s 1.2 corsa hopefully, and would like to put a 1.6 engine in it. how much would i be looking at for a 1.6 engine, brakes, fitted, (and whatever else i would need)

for a decent engine box, loom ecu etc,,, you are looking at £400ish
then £100 for new timing belt and clutch. and probably £100 on other bits and bobs.
so £600+ fitting is about ok. Expect £600-£800 all in.

would make sense to replace bits when it out though, as some jobs need the engine out. Some which are more difficult may as well be done now, and as corsa808 says, why not do the timing belt?
Unless you know it was changed recently, it makes sense to do it, because it could be damaged, in a poor condition etc.

as in performance parts rather than standard ive had to buy like mantzel etc

well was 450 for engine had to source a decat so yea then fitting costs on top

cheers mate. ill keep my eye open on here for engines for sale.
dunno if its worth buying that corsa and doing conversion or just waiting for a gsi though

go for a car thats a 1.6 16v already. far easier and cheaper to insure. less hassle and more reliable.
