Well bit of story but the saturday before last the Corsa started to make a very worrying noise, the noise of a belt slip, whilst catching on something. Suspecting it was the cam belt i rolled the car home (i was at the top of the hill leading to my house)
Got the car home and thanks to inspection with Broster one of the tensiors had managed to reintroduce itself into an oval shape.
I was very very lucky i did no other damage.
Anyway i phone SBD on the monday to order a "cam belt kit" which includes the metal rollers, i didnt fancy having the plastic jobs going on me again, I had already bought the water pump so that was not a problem.
Vauxhall call the "cam belt kit" everything you need to carry out a cam belt change (bar the water pump) so i happily ordered the items for delivery next day.....
Got a phone call later on the monday their system was wrong and the items were not in stock and would take round about 4 days. I wasnt to fussed really i wasnt in work because i was ill, i wasnt using the car, and in fact i was actually happy they had bothered to phone me to let me know.
The bits arrived when they said they would nice and early, to be greated with........just two metal tensiors, now im annoyed so sign of cam belt which i needed to buy.
I had also been charged £11 for delivery when it was only supposed to be £6 and that was for next day they hadnt even offered me a discount for THEIR error.
Whilst I know general business practice has generally been followed i was disapointed that what i was ordering was NOT the complete kit. I felt annoyed they had not informed me that it didnt come with the belt when i specificly asked for the "kit"
Ive sent them an email so hopefuly should get a reponse.
Whilst they have really not done much wrong i felt ill informed that i didnt have the complete picture.

Was it cheaper to buy or a better quality kit than Vauxhalls? Just wondering why you bought it from SBD rather than Vaux

Why did Vauxhall never do the mod for metal rollers?

probably because its too expensive for them to produce large scale, besides they want the rollers to fail so they get a nice bill for when the cambelt goes bye bye

production costs, injection moulded parts are mega cheap next to metal bits.
Plus they seem to be ok now on all the other ones provided they are serviced correctly.
Also life time warranty - I doubt it as says not valid as soon as used for racing. can't say I'd expect them to hold true to the warranty.

i'd be well pissed off, if you walk into any car shop or autofactors in the country and ask for a cambelt kit you would get, belt, tensioners and bolts and washers or whatever.

Also I think they are the only company to do the work and provide the kits for the 1.6 so you dont have much choice to where you go and I'm sure they have customers that spend a lot more £

theres other companies, just no one can be bothered to go and find them, and as for the "kits" they do can't say I'm greatly impressed with them, ou can buy the whole TB lot off jenvey, or speedex too, and I'm not a great fan of MBE, I'd go for DTA personally or emerald if you're near enough.

Thats the thing James you cant buy the whole kit from Jenvey - this was the problem Broster had thanks to SBD's distribution rights.

you can buy tb's inlet trumpets etc.... from jenvey, it works out cheaper to buy it seperately anyways. But I think that parallels are better than the tapers now anyways for high output as the injector placment on the tapers is erm, special.

You should never assume stuff. Thats the moral of the story. To be honest, I could sell a cam belt kit which only contains a cam belt, if you didn't ask what the contents of the kit is more fool you.
As for the postage, ask for them to refund the difference.
