I have had my insurance for 6 months and pay monthly.

I want to cancel as i have sold my car, i pay £75 a month and they want £210 to cancel my insurance!!!

Seems a little steep any advice do i have to pay this?

I use direct choice who then get the insurance from fortis

thats what i mean

they say caus i purchase it through a brooker who they are that they have paid for my insurance in full for me!!! so i have to pay that money

just stop paying it , how you pay dd or some other way.

surely if you dont pay they will just cancel it any way, and if they cancel the insurance you probs wont have to pay the fee.

check the small print probs says somewere in there, that if you cancel you have to pay, might not be the case if they cancel it though.

but if they are saying that theres nout you can do if its in the small print.

i was just gonna cancel the direct debit

but surely they would take legal action against me

yeah they probally will, lol but then again they mght not ad drather wait till they threaten to take it to a debt collection agency to get the money than just give them it all, seems like a big rip off to me. drther make it harder, if it does come to the point when they threaten to write the debt off to an agency just pay it then.

small print's a bitch innit, i got taken to "debt collectors" by elephant... i used to work in hbos's collections department so i know whats what... told them to fcuk off (politely) not heard a thing, that was two years ago

Check your small print, finance agreement and specific cancelation instructions. If its not mentioned in there, tell them to do one.

you have the same insurance as my girlfriend.they purchase the insurance on your behalf and then charge you interest on the monthly payments.thats why you have to pay that amount it's all legal

just cancel it and stop your direct debit. they cannot take money from your account without your authority and that includes extra's

Check its not a finance agreement first.

im with them and i have cancelled a policy before, if its just a standard policy like mine then just cancel the DD with your bank, they cannot take any more money after that.
dont just cancel it with them as it still sometimes comes out of your account.

send them your insurance certificate and a letter saying you want to cancel and they should reimburse you for the rest of the month you havnt used.

tell them you want a years no claims seeing as you're effectively going to be paying them for the rest of the year

it will be legal because all insurances are regulated by the financial services authority

it will be written in the agreement you made

i agree with rob though tell them you want a years no claims in that case
