bittorrent and bearshare can search and find files - but wont download them
Just says - Waiting
Since about Fri/Sat, yet I dont think any settings have changed.
Turned firewall off for 5 minutes but no change

if you're on Broadband there's a chance that your ISP has recently disabled the ports that the filesharing programs you're on about use. More and more are doing this now....especially the more commercial one's like BT, Wannado etc etc

I thought ISP's can block certain ports hence the reason why people tell you to change ports now and again?
Im on BT and dont have a problem

sounds like firewall/port program.
have you tried switching off windows firewall?
also, are you using a router?
or using anything shite like zone alarm?

this shouldnt last too long as more and more legit companies are using bit torrent as a better way of downloading
