well i bought my 20xe corsa on friday last week, ragged it all the way back from st helens, drove fine had it all week, southend saturday night! embarrassed a brand new golf TDI!! then on friday night parked up to go into a nightclub , after coming out turning the key seemed to just spin , checked the cam belt and it was still there and petrol was getting through. had to leave it there. after towing it home the next day we realised it had slipped a tooth and pistons had kissed the pistons!

the fact that we tried to bump start it realy didnt help!

so its now dead! and the money saved for a respray is going to buy me a new lump! question is buy a 20xe a 20let or something in between? any one have any advice?

will get rocker cover off and get some pics up soon!

feck me that must have been some major engine malfunction

yeah sorry i meant kissed the valves been a long weekend mate!! hey it took the kicking i gave it all week and was spot on the cam belt slipped a tooth i think. so bit of bad luck i guess

take off the head, check for damage, fix damage, rebuild.

how much is it going to cost me? wouldnt it be cheaper to buy a new lump? pistons are knackered! how much are forge ones??

how difficult will it be to put another 20xe lump in?? as eveything has already been in once? have access to all the tools i need but just curious how hard it will be?? any ideas?

thats not bad going..

my mate got his going after about 3 weeks.. drive it 4 miles, thought it was the best thing ever, until an oil pipe came off and emptied the sump...
