Anyone feel the same way? we are being ripped off by the BBC for forcing us to have a TV license? There are those that dont even watch BBC but still have to pay.
This is not right. I think someone should invent a TV that blocks, or doesnt even decode BBC channels then they wouldnt have a leg to stand on in court if they tried to argue the channels were still being received.
OR
Why cant the BBC just be like SKY and not broadcast to those that hadnt subsribed to the BBC channels
Joke of this country yet again

no i do but there are people that dont, and if it saved me 180 quid i would quite happily buy a tv that blocked the channels and saved me 180 quid

my tv sits on men and motors mostly. Then channel 4 and itv. I watch things like E4 and more 4, more than bbc channels.
I rarely watch BBC channels.
BBC 1? ?? can't think of anything I watch on that. I don't watch eastenders, I don't watch neighbours, or childrens tv.
BBC 2 - not watched it for a long time (apart from top gear )
BBC 3 / BBC 4 = Bunch of shit.

I feel the same way. Lot of money just for eastenders and the occasional episodes of little Britain and the Mighty Boosch. I could do without if it meant I got to save the dollar.

You can save up the stamps at the post office to help pay towards it so saves paying out a lump sum.
I only watch the soaps on terrestrial tv but they are on digital anyway so if they did make a block tv Id def buy it!

and the term 'freeview' still means its not free... you still need a tv liscence...
the liscence is for the recieving equipment, regardless if you dont watch the tv.

Do you listen to Radio 1?
Its not going to be £180 - well it will eventually but its not going to jump up - typical scare mungering. Bit like saying. Petrol is going to cost £1.20/l soon

Nope Lived in South Africa and you pay license fee even if you don't watch the tv channel.
Mind you the fee also pays for the radio stations (Radio1, 5 live etc.)
It is alot of money though and agree they shoudln't be increasing it, however moving too HD in the near future they will need some money to pay for it.

Nothing wrong with the TV Licence. Did I mention that I work for them?
Seriously though, the BBC do offer the best news service and I use the website a fair bit but thats about it. ITV and C4 are much better. It goes up in April by the way....
