Right ive got a 1.4 16v sport....And it judders wen im sorta slowing down And it fuckin dosnt move like a 16v....Even tho im gettin beat of my mates 1.4i 8v...People say its normal but wen i drove my G/F sister 1.4 16v sport...It fuckin pulled like a sun of a bitch it put mine to shame....Any advice..
Wen i was driving down to cornwall my Engine mangement light came on And it wasnt idleing rite..which was very werid then after a few miles the light went out and it was sorta normal...My cars a 1.4 16v sport S reg 1998...
It dosnt feel like 90bhp and my G/f sister is fuckin well quicker....

But would that make it run sluggish...As wen i drove my G/f sister sport its fuckin well quicker....And is pissing me off....I realy do think my old 1.4 8v flair was faster and that had 110k miles....

i had the identical symptoms, you can take it off and clean it that fixed mine for a month, but its kind of starting to idle wierd again so i bought a new one off ebay going to fit it this weekend.

Yes they can make the car feel sluggish

And when its ticking over is idles at 1000rpm then drops to 900rpms then so on ......And u can he it....Sounds like its goin to die lol...So That can make it feel sluggish...How do clean the idle valve rob

carb cleaner just remove it and get it looking all shiney you will probalby see a load of black sludge around it, mine feels like how your describing Danny, but i cant have my ecu dioged going to fit this new ICV i have and probably get a new lambda and see if its any better

Cold feels quick but warmed up a piles of shit...But whens it cold its only a slight difference...

its in the throttle body where the pipe clips on.take ur inlet pipe off n look inside it shud b b4 the butterfly.thats where it is on mine neway i dnt no if urs will b in a different place.i will get a diagram 4 u.

my sisters is quicker than mine to but thats cause her head gasket went so shes got the head skimmed seems to make alot of diffrence

Well for some weird reason i just beat my mate's vtr plus i was spinning it in 1st to 6krpm then straight to 2nd and i Just fuckin left him....Seem very strange..And he was trying...But i dnt fuckin understand it..... And i know for a fact 1.4 16v cant beat vtr specaily a 03 plate....One which nearly new...

there is only a second or so diff between a vtr and a 1.4 to 60 so i better start will make all the difference as well as a short box.

plus my ecu light has come on before... driving 100 miles a little too fast... slowed down and it was fine. engine isn't designed for going long distances really

Ive just got 50miles out of a £10 wtf is wrong And it feels like my 8v flair was fuckin quicker than this...
