Trying to put together a list of parts I will need to get a 2.0 16v (C20XE) in to my 1.2 8v Corsa.
Engine, -
Gearbox, -
Loom, -
Ecu, -
Exhaust manifold, -
GSi Drive Shafts -
Ecotec adapater plate -
Ecotec pipe -
Engine oil -
Gearbox oil -
Oil filter -
Induction kit / Filter -
Mounts -
16v header tank -
gear box spacer -
bigger rad,1.6 gsi or 1.7td diesel rad -
ignition coil -
hubs for the driveshafts with big inner cvs -
modified fuel pipes for the rail -
If I would need anything else can you add it to the list, or if you have a rough idea of prices for all that could you add the price beside.

bigger rad,1.6 gsi or 1.7td diesel rad
ignition coil
hubs for the driveshafts with big inner cvs
modified fuel pipes for the rail,the nuts are diff sizes-17mm and 19mm

let us no how that goes mate, im getting a donor cavalier with a c20xe, and also have a 1.2 8v but haven't a clue on wat wat i need/ wat to do

I'm pretty much looking for a donor car, have chance of a C20XE but its been removed from car already would prefer to hear it running, drive it etc before i buy an XE

you dont need gearbox rear mount spacer if you know how to modify original corsa mount. dont forget cambelt and tensioners.

Rear mount we can sort out for you mate, only need the front mount
16v header tank can get for about a fiver this way!

If you're using gsi shafts you need inner cv's (little gem here)
partco ref TDL3051 or TDL3051R for recon ones
You can then use standard corsa hubs and outer cv joints
want any more info on this.... u2u me

If you are rebuilding it then will it matter if it doesn't run to start with? Cos surely it will be running again when you have replaced all the parts during the rebuild?

who's to say when you rebuild it it'll be rebuilt to a better standard than what it was

That wasn't the question
I was wanting to know if you bought an engine that didn't run but then rebuilt it presumably it would run as everything has been replaced that could of been wrong?

I still think its best to buy a car with the lump in, so it can be heard and driven... then if its got history (receipts etc) its a bonus. I bought mine for 200 quid off a guy i didnt know who said it was a good sound lump, it was a gamble and i got a good lump out of it (doesn't tap ffrom cold) you win some you lose some
