Realisticly, how much would i be looking at for one of you guys to do a full XE conversion on my car. Wanted it to be as cheap as possible, obviously, but not a bag of shoot. gonna be keeping it pretty standard so not really any need to uprate parts, would just like a half decent engine with good power.
Any ideas fella's?

Think thats pretty cheap that matey, is that if you provide them with everything they need. ie engine, conversion kit etc?

Yeah i suppose, sure a normal mechanic would charge about 500 if you supplied the bits. i was wondering how much they would want if they supplied everything for me.

my guestimation:
engine - £300
conversion kit - £560
labour - £500
plus 2.0 brakes minimum if you dont have them allready, more money if you want the engine sprucing up a bit and not sure about the exhaust?

i would say put £1500 aside and that will cover everything, and give you some left over.

I've joust bought a rebuilt XE, going to be doing a few bits to it myself and buying bits over time.
Then i shall be back on here wanting someone to fit it for me! Don't worry, you'll get bed and breakfast, my mum will cook! lol
Price to be negotiated!

beardy and lee both replied, with aroudn the same figure and the same info etc, and are both the most high profile of engine conversions people on here
if people feel they can do it cheaper, why not u2u the bloke asking, instead of publically saying "f**k me every body talking daft money for xe converions here "
