Planning on learning from practise in my spare time

Basically selling my car off etc paying off lovely debts and i plan on renting a unit as will be able to afford it no probs when stuffs payed off

Basically just to guys that have tought themselfs would like bit of advice

Im gonna rent a unit but do units have restrictions on spraying due to fumes etc as in the owners do they have to be informed obviously i will need to set up proper ventalation if i decide to keep learning but for now just wanna learn stuff

Als is a 5ltr compressor sufficiant to do spraying as can get one of these and spray guns etc for a really good price just wasnt sure on the size....

As i plan to buy a cheap nova or corsa good engine but shoot bodywork and use it as a project to learn on maybe make some money off it to pay for more equipment

Any advice/warnings from people that have done this would be great maybe advice on what not to do or what best avenue is

im aware of that but i can get compressor etc no problems and renting somewhere shouldnt be a problem

so initially setting up shouldnt be mega bucks just if i start getting expensive equipment etc

I was talking to my mate who is a sprayer, its taken him a while to get the finish he wants on cars, only way it to practise though, but preferably not a car you'll be driving lol

There is alot more to it that i thought.

theres only one way to learn mate, might as well go for it but it takes alot of practice
expect to pay a few hundred quid on equipment before hand though

ebay is great for spray equipment as it seems to be cheaper than most shops/outlets etc

i will just ask people tons of questions to learn flatting with laquers etc and study on internet or books etc

just doing bodywork i know its gonna sound dodgy when i have finished a bit and looks really good eg filling flatting or smoothing im really chuffed and i would like to do sideline projects

Your best bet it to find a night course on Painting mate, learns you all the right and wrong things to do, as if your self taught when somthing go's wrong you will not know what the problem is.

i am in my 2nd year at night school doing a paint refreshing course 1 night a week. You could just do the 1 year as thats where they teach you everything, and the second year you put it all into practice.

With most self taught people (some on here who are doing there own work) have done stuff the wrong way and will not get the results they are looking for, as they think there doing it right.

Failing Collage, go to a bodyshop and ask if you can help out 1 day a week for free.
