any one agot any ideas how to take the backs off a pair of lights? i've tried the oven at 120degrees but no joy

Surprised you didnt melt them. I split a set of clears by soaking them in hot water for 10mins.

i tried that as well. how hot? i used the hot tap, could only just put my hand in

try using hairdrier around edge to loosen sealent it worked on my mates zetec s headlights.

i've had a look, and it doesnt look like normal glue :S more like the cement stuff you'd use with an airfix kit. hope im not going to have to butcher up loads of lights to get the bits i want

Long shot, try putting them in the freezer, then straight into the oven?

i had thought that, although i planned to put them in the freezer and then pour boiling water around the edge where the join is. think i'll try it on an old broke light rather than risk a good one

i reckon you might need 3 sets of lights and some airfix glue

one set for top red bit, one set for bottom and one set for black bits

i was thinking one set for the red, one for the black, and then another for the back. im not having a full black strip across, just the oval bit round the indicator
