Now that I've got a decent PC, one of the things I have been thinking of using the old laptop for is sat nav in the Astra.
I was thinking of using it to run the software etc. and having an external 7" LCD screen or similar running off it for the display. Is such a task possible?
Haven't really thought of the logistics of it all TBH, just an idea floating around in my head.

Interesting.
Has anyone here actually done this? Where have you mounted your laptop? And have you used an external LCD?

I wouldnt bother, you can get a tungsten T3 for less than 100 off ebay, more than capable of doing it.
Probably the same price as the screen and much less hastle.
The only other things you will need are a bluetooth gps module, sd card and a bracket/car charger. Will cost less than 200 easily.
