OK
I don't really want anything too silly so please don't start suggesting RX7's & Impreza's etc
I need a nice car that isn't too bad on fuel & looks nice. Would have up to about 7K & I don't really want a base model
Really keen on the Astra as I like how they look, there are plenty to choose from & for not a lot of money I can get a nice car with extra's that isn't a nightmare to insure.
Bare in mind for the price of an early 'vert I could get a newer (and higher spec?) Coupe
Golf is another option but I won't get as much for my money. Reason I've put Leon in there is because they're very similar but I don't know too much about either of them really
Any other suggestions are welcome, just nothing too big(eg- mondeo size) & nothing really small(Eg- Lupo size)
Cheers

Tough choice, Probably LCR if you can afford it.
I'll be choosing between a Mk4 Astra GSi and a Convertible in about a years time

ish yeah. I wouldn't go for a golf, nice but a bit overpriced IMO.
I wouldnt go Leon unless it was an LCR.
Which leaves the astra, just depends how much you fancy a soft top

Astra Convertible , if i couldnt budget the S2K that was my next option , allthough a Lotus elise can be had for that kinda money but only a K series engine one.
I say the Astra , you wont regret it , especially with the summer comming up

Yeah the Astra is top o the list ATM
Good all rounder & least expensive
If I got a Leon/Golf I couldn't afford the top spec version IE - Cupra R
The Leons look a bit crappy without the Cupra R extras

Astras are good cars really, are you after speed, looks or both? If its more of a pose mobile i'd go for an Astra convertible, my dad put one on the road for me and my sisters last summer. Is a good feeling driving round with the roof down.

Yeah just fancy a nice looking & nice to drive car thats nippy. I'd settle with the 1.8 version, ideally I'd like the turbo but for a turbo convertible its a lot more money to buy & a lot more to insure!
Any other suggestions? Mini Cooper?

I'm a fan of the new mini's but for 7k you probably wont get much as they are still expensive. The 1.8 Astras are pretty quick as i'm sure you've heard the gear ratio's are pretty good so acceleration is good for a 1.8, what about a new shape MR2? Bit gay but not a bad engine and a good RWD chassis. Duno if they are available for 7k though

Centenary Blue which is darker than Europa, slightly darker leather as well. Gets the wheels as well as some interior bits, gear knob possibly different steering wheel. They're all numbered as well.
I personally would have said that if you're throwing 18s on it then find a regular one with options. Blue with the cream isn't rare plus you can look out for xenons and nav then

That 100 has silver dash though Matt.
Compare that to regular one when you put cream seats in it:

Red one - because its boss.
Dash - I'm talking about the centre console. Mine is same colour as the seats, the Edition 100 is silver.

Ah ha
I get you now
So normally they c'code the dash when you add cream leather? But in the 100 they just leave it silver?
And yes the red one rocks GSI front bumper?

Edition 100 colour seems to always look dirty
Get a 1.8 16v Coupe from Vauxhall with the spoiler on, get a decent one and they will give you Network Q which means now worries motoring for at least a year, and bumps or scratches on the car will be removed.
