Got the skirts and post 97 strips on, no problems there (), but then got home, and when I got back into the car after opening garage door, smelt something burning, then saw smoke drifting out around the MFD. Wonderful.

wont be much from a scrappy will it? you could even try soldering on another resistor, looks easy enuff

i've had to change my mfd 3 times! the bloody plug on it keeps breaking and then keeps resetting!

doubt it

thats more likely to be the door switch, unless it doesnt work even on the headlight switch, when its the bulb(s)

Fixed this with Mr Marriott's help, so just wanted to say thanks to him.

Turns out the horn is on the same circuit as the mfd and radio, the wires in the bay had shorted out, popped the fuse, and then when i turned headlights on it was overloading the MFD and burnt it out. Now have new manly horn and workign MFD.

Yay.

thats usually a problem with the contact ring around the steering wheel column,

I've tried alsorts with mine, cleaning it, with brake cleaner and paint thinners! rubbing it with sandpaper, and its still playing up
