Hello,

Crisis ahoy.

With me moving over to the 20xe slag later this week (hopefully), I've got myself into a pickle as to how I am going to insure myself.

Currently I'm insured with Tescos for my 1.0ltr Corsa C, with 3 years and 9 months or so NCB.

I've been offered £1100 for a new FC policy from some broker for the 20xe, starting with 3 years NCB and as its not with tescos I will be raped of my 9 months I've built up since last year.

Now I just spoken to the nice northern lady from the tescos helpline and they will insure the red slag, with coilovers, brakes, 100% increase in BHP (the old 1.4 8v is abit 80bhp according to this site) till the end of my policy (June 10th) for £166.

but, they will ask me to pay £950 excess regardless if an accident is my fault or not (however if the accident isnt my fault, I *should* get that back).

I would really like to get to the 4year ncb milestone as long as I dont spin the XE into a ditch.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I say willay, go with tesco and just be extra cautious will they drop it down once you've reached the 4yr NCB?

1100 FC thats pretty good Will. I would say pay up the extra 166 for the four months remaining as it only works out to be around £40 a month right? get your 4 years NCb then go with the broker and protect it.

One thing is I got my 4 years this years last week went to renew it with protection and the quote went up by £120 which "aprently" is the norm when you protect your ncb you have to pay up to 15% on your policy.

Insurance is a right bastard matey

Leave the policy running IMO, for 3 months it's not worth loosing out a years NCB.
