how much would it be Ed? as i need some for a Z18XE

would it not be easier to just get someone to cut and weld some flanges

get hold of a suitable bike manifold or some flanges which fit, then get someone to weld them onto the X12XE manifold

i dont think its totally pointless, woud be a good laugh even if its not much of a gain

I could cut and weld the manifolds together. I'd have to get hold of something to attach the throtle bodies anyway, so i think i might as well get both sides done and weld them myself.

You would have to get somone to sort you the STL path files for the computer that controls the laser cutter. Thats a few hours. Thats where the main expense is....

I would bodge one out of the existing manifold by chopping and milling one down so you could weld on some pipe. Ally welding is cheaper than CNC machining stuff.

I've got some STL export plugin for autocad, just need to find someone with a machine. Failing that I can can try and plasma cut some and see if i can grind them, dont know how well this method would turn out tho. Would rather get them machine cut.

if you told me what part number the gasket is, i could buy one, and draw it up for you on autocad, and cut if for you? then you would just have to tell me what you want it made of, stanless, ally, brass, mid steel? and how thick, and jobs a gudden n post it ya!

Anything from 5-10mm thick steel, stainless would be quite nice, I can TIG weld some stainless pipes so would look very pretty I could draw you up the cad files for both flanges. How much do you want for the pair?

well i run and maintain the machine, so as long as its clear wiv ma boss, i guess if some 1 finds th going rate, and then i will dedect from there so its cheaper 4 ya, le me no. i am a draughtsman 2 so could get them drawn up, but if ne1 else could i guess it would save having 2 buy a gasket!

Around £60 is what my local engineering company charges. I normally get stuff done there but I'm trying to do this for extremely cheap!

I found this guy on eBay doing lasercuting - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LASER-CUTTING-OFFER-IN-0-8-TO-1-6-SHEET-LATHE-PUNCH_W0QQitemZ3869848415QQcategoryZ64819QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but only 1.6mm thick?

my machine is a wire eroder, same principle, just more accurate, slower process over bigger jobs, but very accurate and clean finish

oops never noticed the width, 1.6 would probably warp. He does up to 3mm for £80, still too thin in my opinion. £25 an hour sounds like a good price, if I supplied the program and steel would keep the cost down?

ye course i will, as lon as the prog is in dxf format, and you supply the steel with 20mm each side on the width extra so i can clamp it down. but like you have noticed, for 5mm it would probably be £100 and so on until your desired 10mm!

and im guessing you will want the four ports cut out in the middle, and drilled too for your bolt holes?

i will have a word at work and see how many hours it will be charged at, and let you know so i can try and do it as cheaply as poss 4 you!
